St John's Junior Church Programme

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to see such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs." (Matt 19:14)

St John's Junior Church provides a lively and active children's programme at both 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services.

Our Nursery is a colourful and cozy room where infants are taken care with many loving arms. Laura McDougall, a grade 12 student, is on duty every week. Young infants are introduced to Bible stories through picture books, music and games.

Children (ages 3-11) are part of the worship service until 'children's gathering'. We process out of the church to a children's chapel where we have our own children's worship time complete with music and song and instruments and dance!

The children then join their teachers in small groups to explore their faith in God and Jesus. We use drama, story- telling, arts and crafts and theatre games in an interactive and creative way that enhances the bible story.

The children's library is a special place for all to relax on cushions and browse though picture books or novels for the young reader. Enjoy books featuring many biblical themes and characters. Robin Bickley, Librarian, tends to books for all ages.

St. John’s parishioner Ralph Stephenson built this beautiful ark for St. John’s Sunday School. Both a valuable teaching tool and a work of art, it has become a favorite part of Sunday School, complete with sliding windows, removable roof, and multiple decks for animals.

Thank you Ralph!
